An amazing collaboration between Meducate Global, LLC and AMEE - The International Association for Health Professions Education and funded by Pfizer, to develop sustainable Communities of Practice of CPD Educators in five Sub-Saharan countries. Here Lawrence Sherman, President of Meducate Global, LLC is with Anne Lloyd, CEO of AMEE, and the country liaisons/leaders from Botswana (Dr Mmoloki Molwantwa), Kenya (Dr Priscah Mosol), Lesotho (Dr Mamphafi Matete), Malawi (Dr Geldine Chironda) and Rwanda (Dr Claudine Muraraneza). This was an interprofessional initiatives, with both physician and nurse country leaders, and even more professions represented in the first cohort of 75 CPD Educators to participate in the project, all completing a 6-module, 60-hour CPD Educator training course. Assessment of the project was conducted by the Centre of Excellence for Research in CPD of the Faculty of Nursing and Midwifery of the Royal College of Surgeons of Ireland (RCSI), with whom we will be preparing a publication with the results. In the next phase of the project, which just launched, the country liaisons/leaders will be facilitating future courses locally and independently.
